Supporting patients, staff and volunteers of NEAS across the region
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) charity is here to support patients, staff and volunteers from across the region.
Thanks to the very kind donations we receive from individuals, families, local communities and businesses, we have been able to provide a wide range of welfare support, care and expertise in recent years, including:
- Growing our volunteer network of Community First Responders, who provide an urgent response to life threatening emergencies in their own communities until an ambulance arrives.
- Supporting engagement with communities who are often hard to reach.
- Working with local groups to ensure they have 24 hour access to defibrillators in their communities.
- Providing welfare support and refreshments to our staff during periods of high demand as well as at remote ambulance stations.
