What is a community ambassador?
An ambassador's role is to help us, the ambulance service, spread messages and information about how and when to access 999, 111 and Patient Transport Services, and be our eyes and ears in local communities.
To help us to:
- Reach out to people and communities
- Educate people about our services and how to access them
- Share key information about health care
- Attract people to come to work and volunteer with us
- Direct people to the right health services
As a community ambassador you will:
- Learn new skills and enhance your CV
- Receive a one day induction and training
- Get a uniform and ID badge so you are easily identified
- Make a difference in the community- be the voice for your community
- Gain an understanding of our organisation and services
- Get the opportunity to help people in your community

What skills and experience do i need ?
- Good communications skills
- Be aged 16 years or over
- A willingness to work to the Community Ambassador Volunteer Agreement and Code of Conduct

What levels of commitment do I have to give ?
- This is not a traditional volunteering role. We want you to be able to fit this role around your existing commitments and adapt it to fit your life style. There is no minimum commitment required and you can always let us know if your availability or circumstances change.

Will I be paid for my time as a Community Ambassador?
- Being a Community Ambassador is a voluntary role, but we do appreciate the hard work you do

- You will be given a one day induction to the community ambassador program and, more if needed

- You will be given ongoing support
- You will be given a range of useful information
